Hey everyone! I’m excited to share another one of my interactive projects with you. If you love gamified experiences and enjoy spending time on Instagram, TikTok, or Snapchat, then you’re going to love this one. Let’s dive into “Lari Kampung,” an Augmented Reality (AR) experience I developed using Meta Spark, Effect House, and Lens Studio.
Introducing “Lari Kampung”
Imagine opening Instagram, TikTok, or Snapchat and finding an AR effect that turns you into a runner, tasked with running as far as possible without hitting obstacles. From trash and potholes to cones and other hurdles, your goal is to navigate through them all and keep running. Welcome to Lari Kampung!
The Inspiration Behind the Project
The idea for “Lari Kampung” came from the desire to create a fun, interactive game that incorporates the excitement of running with the challenge of avoiding obstacles. I wanted to bring a unique, engaging experience to social media platforms that people of all ages can enjoy.
Building with Meta Spark, Effect House, and Lens Studio
To reach a wide audience and utilize the best features of each platform, I used:
- Meta Spark for Instagram
- Effect House for TikTok
- Lens Studio for Snapchat
These powerful tools provided the perfect environment to develop the interactive elements and ensure smooth and responsive gameplay.
How It Works
Here’s a look into the development process:
- Concept and Design: The first step was designing the game’s concept and mechanics. I focused on creating a dynamic and engaging running game with various obstacles to avoid.
- Development in Meta Spark, Effect House, and Lens Studio: Using these platforms, I implemented the AR components, focusing on body tracking and obstacle detection. The advanced tracking capabilities of these tools allowed me to create a responsive and immersive experience.
- Gameplay Mechanics: The game detects the user’s movements and simulates running. Players must navigate their virtual runner to avoid hitting obstacles. If they hit an obstacle, the game ends.
User Experience
When you activate the “Lari Kampung” effect on Instagram, TikTok, or Snapchat, the AR experience begins by detecting your movements. You’ll see yourself as a runner in a virtual environment. The goal is to run as far as possible while avoiding obstacles like trash, potholes, and cones. If you hit any of these obstacles, the game ends, and you can try again to beat your previous distance.
Why It’s Fun
What makes “Lari Kampung” so enjoyable is its blend of physical activity and gamification. It’s a fun and engaging way to challenge yourself and your friends to see who can run the farthest without hitting obstacles. It’s perfect for creating exciting content on Instagram, TikTok, and Snapchat, and it’s a great way to get moving while having fun.
Looking Ahead
Working on “Lari Kampung” has been an incredible experience. Projects like these inspire me to keep exploring the potential of AR. I’m excited to continue creating more interactive and entertaining AR experiences. Up next, I’m diving into Virtual Reality (VR) and Mixed Reality (MR), so stay tuned for more innovative projects!
